This is my first 3 weeks work on the take a stitch tuesday.
I have really enjoyed doing these stitches and I feel my work becoming more relaxed.
I am only working on a 3 inch square at the moment but it is creeping out on the edges, and filling in all of the spaces.
I have been using Mary Thomas's dictionary of embroidery stitches. A book I brought my mother in 1990.
For the buttonhole stitch I used  Buttonhole stitch Knotted buttonhole stitch Closed Buttonhole stitch, Crossed Buttonhole stitch, Double Buttonhole stitch and Tailor's Buttonhole stitch.
For the feather stitch I used Feather stitch, Closed Feather stitch, Double Feather stitch, Spanish Knotted Feather stitch and Maidenhair stitch.
I intend to use these stitches and the cretan stitch yet to finish, on my first block of CQJP
Must get back to my stitching.

Pam's present

This is my first attempt at crazy patchwork. My sister's birthday was last week and I managed to get it finished on time. I love making things for Pam as she really appreciates my gifts. As I do hers. We both love making things, we always have some project on the go. We both have grandchildren close by so in between playing with them, work and making we are both kept pretty busy. I will post my Tast later.

Fly stitch TAST week 1

Well I have just finished my first TAST. I have seen some really beautiful designs and I was getting a bit overwhelm by it all and wanted to do so many different designs but could not make up my mind what to do. So I instead of worrying about what design I decided to just practice the stitch and when I am a bit more accomplished I will incorporate a few of the stitches that I have learnt. It has been such a long time since I had taken up a needle and thread for embroidery stitches I so enjoyed it, waiting for the next stitch tomorrow.

New Year - New beginning

I am not one for writing much about myself, but I thought I would take on this new challenge from CQJP so decided to open a blog. That in itself was a challenge it has taken me a week to figure out how to put the logo on my blog.
I need challenges in my life and goals and CQJP seems to hit the spot, without being to regimented. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone's quilts the first 3 are already there, and they are beautiful. I will wait for a few more for inspiration, to see if that will help me to decide where to take my new Quilt. Do I make random blocks, a sampler, a sampler book, or try to incorporate it all in to one design? I will make a decision by the end of the week.
